Triple-C Gas Detector

Innovation

The Triple-C is one of the first portable gas detectors designed with 3 years of battery life and up to 90 seconds of alarm each day, meaning you never need to charge it or worry that the detector is not ready for the job. There’s also no need to worry about maintenance or spare replacement again. The Triple-C comes with a lifetime warranty, so you can operate safely, knowing that we will resolve any issues quickly and free of charge.

It’s a tough unit and capable of operating in almost all situations:

  • The IP68 rating means it’s safe from the finest dust and can even be submerged 1.5m underwater without impacting performance.
  • It will work in Zone 0 (flammable) and completely inert (oxygen-free) environments.
  • It is also functional in extreme cold temperatures of -20°C and heat of 50°C.

Data and accountability are essential in the event of an investigation.
This portable detector records data at 1-second intervals and the last 25 bump tests over the previous two months. It’s completely customisable – sensor and alarm levels can be adjusted to suit the role required, and each device can be digitally assigned to a crew member or department.

Benefits

No Calibration – The portable multi-gas detector rivals all existing gas detectors and features cutting-edge infrared LEL sensor technology, meaning it ensures more reliability and higher quality than standard catalytic sensors

No Charging – The only portable gas detector designed with 3 years of battery life, which includes up to 90 seconds of alarm each day, so you never need to charge the detector.

No Cost – Requires no maintenance, servicing or sensor replacement.

Advantages

No Maintenance – Unbox, and you’re good to go. The detector comes with a lifetime warranty.

No Limits – The most robust and advanced portable gas detector on the planet. With an IP68 rating, it’s safe from the finest dust and can even be submerged under 1.5m underwater for 30 minutes.

No Oxygen – It will work in entirely inert (oxygen-free) and Zone 0 (flammable) environments. Always charged and always calibrated, it is ready to go anywhere at any time.

No Confusion
– Completely customisable, the sensor and alarm levels can be adjusted to suit the role required, and each device can be digitally assigned to a crew member or department. Device reminders can be configured to alert crews when bump tests are required per company standards.

Triple-C FAQ’s

Please see below the most common questions we’re asked about the Triple-C from our customers. If you need to know anymore, then please get in touch with our friendly team using the form below.

How can the Triple-C work without calibration?

Although it doesn’t require calibration, it does still require frequent bump tests. However, it can still work in oxygen-
depleted environments.

Will I still get a calibration certificate?

The Triple-C, again, doesn’t have to be calibrated, but it does come with a calibration certificate, which you can show to
inspectors if you need to.

Will the Triple-C work in adverse conditions?

Triple-C can also measure remote samples using the hand aspirator kit and extension hose. It is also dust protected and can operate whilst submerged in water.

What approval and Legislation does the Triple-C comply to?

IMO Regulation XI-1/7 (ca. 2016)

The new Legislation mandates the carriage of portable gas detectors that detect four different gases on ALL SOLAS applicable vessels.

You’re now also required to carry a means of calibrating these gas detectors on board, which is a significant change from offloading detectors ashore for calibration every year.
ExxonMobil MESQA 2010 Requirements

E.17 Appropriate span/calibration gas, maintenance kits and batteries must be carried to enable the equipment
performance to be checked and kept in a fully operational condition.

E.16 All vessels MUST have onboard records of tests to show that all gas detection equipment (fixed and portable)
is routinely maintained and calibrated.

ANNEX 11

You should carry a means of calibrating sensor onboard; however, as long as you follow the manufacturer’s
instructions and perform regular bump tests, you are compliant.

Is it suitable for my vessel?

  • Suitable For All Vessel Types (ATEX Zone-0).
  • Tankers, Containers, Bulkers, Heavy-lift, Dredgers, Barges, Tugs Etc.
  • Defence Sector
  • Ideal For Contractors/Inspectors

Is the Triple-C suitable for tanker holdings?

For cargo loading/unloading operations, Martek recommends the use of one of our ‘Tankscape’ devices. The Triple-C is
designed for personal use only and not for sampling of cargo holds.

How can I get the Triple-C on my vessel?
