Optimal Respiratory Protection to meet SOLAS Regulations
In marine environments, there is the constant threat of sudden release of toxic chemicals into the air. It is vital that seafarers working in such conditions have access to reliable and personal escape breathing equipment at all times.
When emergencies occur, often the only way to survive or be able to rescue endangered people is with the use of an Emergency Escape Breathing Device (EEBD).
EEBD is a life-saving appliance which is used for escaping an area with hazardous conditions such as fire, smoke, poisonous gases, etc. As the name mentions, it is used for quick escape from a situation wherein the individual has to swiftly vacate his immediate surroundings.
They are designed to automatically start operation, feeding the wearer with a constant supply of compressed air for 10-15 minutes keeping the seafarer alive.
If you have an EEBD onboard you are advised to check the expiry dates which are usually 10-15 years since the product was installed.
It's critical that you have a working device onboard that can keep seafarers alive in an emergency situation.
We are launching our very own Emergency Escape Breathing Device to complement our crew welfare portfolio. Register your interest for our new product launch...
