Martek have just returned from a hugely successful product launch hosted in Athens, the centre of the Greek shipping industry for their new Navgard™ BNWAS system.
A live formal presentation followed by hands on demonstrations of products and services was given to the packed audience at the Metropole Hotel Conference Suite.
The event was hosted in conjunction with AGV, Martek’s Agent in the Greek region.
Along with the product presentations, Anthony Carter, Martek’s Sales Director, also offered a clear route through the maze of IMO requirements for those present.
Summing up the event, Anthony said:
“It’s great to have such a large turn-out from our Greek customers. It is a fact that Greece is keen to be seen leading the world on both crew welfare and environmental compliance and as a result, remains a solid market base for Martek.
Launching Navgard™ here, Martek’s solution to the BNWAS issue, it is clear that the Greek owners, Superintendents and Managers recognise the need for a comprehensive, robust system backed up by the support only a global supplier such as Martek can deliver.”
Enquiries for well over 300 Navgard systems were taken from the event.
Also covered by the sales team at the event were Martek’s “Fastcalgas” service for distribution ofcalibration gas at fixed cost to the world’s major ports. At least one fleet deal seems likely as a result of the visit.
Continuing the theme of crew welfare, Lifeforce™, Martek’s Type Approved Marine Defibrillator also struck a chord with the audience. As many of the attendees are ex-crew members themselves now come ashore to manage their companies vessels from Athens, the promotion of crew welfare and safety is paramount to them. Said one attendee placing an enquiry:
“Sudden Cardiac Arrest is known to be one of the major killers in all walks of life. It is good to know that such a simple and effective device is available for my crews and that I have a chance to make a real contribution to their safety by working with Martek.”
