Data Recording & Trending

DataLINK is a software suite designed specifically for the high level recording of ship emissions. In addition to recording data, the software can also be used for the trending of emissions data which can then be transmitted back to shore, allowing access through any internet terminal via a web site portal. Trend graphs can be produced showing pollutant levels against time to give a more visual interpretation of emissions data. The system can store data for an indefinite period of time, allowing the retrieval of historical data over many years.

Extended Reporting Function

To give a bigger picture of the ship emissions figures in relation to the vessel’s activity, the interface with Purplefinder also allows extended reporting functions for vessel details including:

• GPS position
• Speed
• Heading
• Engine power

Individual Engine and Pollutant Reporting

Each installed engine/boiler/gas turbine can be individually displayed with instantaneous and historical emissions data. In addition, each gaseous pollutant can be displayed on its own page.

Geographical Reporting

Pollutant levels can be geographically plotted to allow verification of compliance within regional boundaries. Alarm zones can be plotted into the software to provide prior warning of any potential emissions violation before the vessel enters any Emission Control Areas (ECA’s).The totalised emission from each installed engine/boiler/gas turbine can also be recorded for emission inventory purposes.

Exception Alarms

DataLINK can also provide an alarm for the following:

• High emissions
• System errors or failures
• Geographical boundaries (entering emission control areas)

These alarms can be automatically e-mailed or sent by SMS to alert shore staff.
