Reclaimed R22 Refrigerant Gas
Are you still using new R22 refrigerant gas to refill or top up R22 refrigerant systems on your European Flag vessels? If so, then you are breaking the law and run the risk of being fined €7,000+ or even face imprisonment.
The new European regulation (EC) No. 2037/2000 now restricts you from refilling and topping up your R22 refrigeration systems on your European Flag ships, with fresh new R22 refrigerant gas. You could make costly and potentially risky modifications to your equipment to allow the use of alternative refrigerant gases to comply with this new regulation, however, Martek Marine can give you a simpler and more attractive alternative!
Regulation (EC) No. 2037/2000 specifically states that only reclaimed R22 “should be used in maintenance and servicing operations”. This means that you can continue to do what you have always done in maintaining your equipment, simply replacing fresh “virgin” R22 with reclaimed R22. As a busy ship operator, what could be easier for you?
