Navgard™ BNWAS
"all our dealings with Martek Marine...has been excellent"
“We operate a fleet of ships of different classification societies and this always represents a problem for us when choosing new equipment. Because Navgard is approved by all major classification societies we could be sure that it would be accepted on all of our ships without having to worry about being charged additional approval costs from individual classification societies, which themselves could be more than the cost of other BNWAS systems on the market.
All our dealings with Martek Marine throughout the process from negotiation to delivery of the equipment has been excellent, and when a problem did arise, it was dealt with promptly and efficiently. Their sales team were very professional in ensuring we got the correct configuration for our requirements”.

"It covered everything we were looking for in a system."
"we spent a lot of time investigating which BNWAS system we should install and we finally decided on Navgard.
It covered everything we were looking for in a system. First of all it had all the type approvals in place that we needed in order to ensure all our fleet could install the same system and we weren't going to incur any additional costs from flag authorities.
But by far the most important requirement for us was the ease of installation. The Martek sales representative explained to us how the installation process would be much simpler than other brands as the system is modular and cuts out the requirement for interfaces so the alarms go directly to the control panel.
Commissioning and set up was very simple and the installation engineer guided us through the initial set up menu so we were ready to use the system straight away."

MariNOx™ - Engine Emissions Monitoring
"...we have endorsed the fitting of MariNOx™ to our vessels.”
“The MariNOx™ system was professionally installed in-passage aboard MT Crudestar without any detrimental effect on the operation of the vessel. The system comprised of the fully Type Approved MariNOx™ System including the gas sampling equipment, engine performance/ambient correction sensors and Approved NOx/CO2/SOx calculation software as required by the legislation.
The system proved accurate and reliable for NOx / CO2 monitoring in compliance with MARPOL Annex VI Regulation 13 and The NOx Technical Code. By monitoring NOx & CO2 emissions the engine was optimised to achieve audited fuel savings in the region of 2.45%. By fitting the MariNOx™ system, we are freed from the restrictions imposed by the onerous, disruptive and risky Parameter Check Survey compliance method leaving us free to source our engine spare parts in the open market at major cost saving to OEM parts.
The SOx monitoring feature provided reliable monitoring delivering accurate reporting of the sulphur emissions in line with Regulation 14(4).
MariNOx™ allows Metrostar to conform with Best Practice Environmental Policy. Due to the complete success of the trial we have endorsed the fitting of MariNOx™ to our vessels.”
Mr T Pavlidis, Technical Director
Metrostar Management Corp

"...fuel savings in the range 0.6% - 2.1% were delivered."
"Peter Dohle Schiffahrts and Martek Marine undertook a detailed programme of trials to establish the scope of fuel savings achievable on-board MV Copiapo through engine optimisation using the MariNOx® Engine Emission Monitor.
The equipment was installed, in-passage by the Martek service team with assistance of the ships engineers. The installation did not affect the vessels operation.
Various trials were carried out on the main engine (Wartsila 10RTA96-C) to measure NOx/CO2 and F.O consumption. The trials concluded that fuel savings in the range 0.6% - 2.1% were delivered. The main engine was monitored for Specific NOx emissions throughout the trials and was proven to be in compliance with the limits in the NOx Technical Code both before and after each trial."
Mr Kurt Brieger, Fleet Manager

"...fuel savings opportunities ..."
“Pioneer Ship Management chose MariNOx™ because we were interested in the fuel savings opportunities open to us from fitting the MariNOx™ system.
We undertook a trial in the North Sea where we used MariNOx™ to monitor the NOx emissions from the main engine on-board our crude oil tanker Atlantic Galaxy, which allowed us to tune the main engine to maximise its performance and reduce its fuel consumption.
Following the successful trial we expanded the system to also include NOx monitoring of the auxiliary engines, as an expression of our environmental commitment.”

Lifeforce™ - Marine Defibrillator
"...a marine-approved unit at a reasonable cost..."
"Maestro Shipmanagement Ltd, based in Limassol, Cyprus, looks upon the provision of a defibrillator unit to each of the vessels within the fleet as sensible and pro-active good management that additionally provides the crew with a real means to make a difference.
Having completed a broad market investigation, it became clear that Martek Marine were able to provide a marine-approved unit at a reasonable cost, specifically tailored for the fairly unforgiving demands of the marine industry. This, combined with the evident simplicity of use, guided the decision which has not been regretted."
Mr Tony Loizou, Managing Director

"...we recognised the value of investing in the Lifeforce..."
